2011 NCLS: half a million surveys with churches

Thousands of churches can claim to be part of the largest nationwide survey after the national census. Twenty years since it first began in 1991, the 2011 National Church Life Survey took place in churches from September to November.

Like the previous Church Life Surveys, this fifth NCLS will provide an evidence base to help churches identify strengths, find signs of hope and connect with the wider community.

More than half a million attender survey forms were posted to churches in 23 denominations. Now the responses are flooding back!

Participating churches can expect their own results in early 2012.

Completed surveys? What now?

If your church took part, please encourage your leaders to post completed surveys back to NCLS Research as soon as possible. This will help us get through processing the mountain of paper in the next few months to get results back ASAP. Send them to PO Box 6080, Sydney Parcels BMLC, Chullora NSW 2190.

Have surveys, but not yet completed?

If you have a Survey Pack for your church, but haven’t completed the surveys, please keep them and do the survey when you can. While we can’t guarantee a fast turnaround of results, it is more important to us that you take part – even if late. Given the Christmas and holiday season, you may choose to delay the survey till February 2012.

Did not take part, but would now like to?

We will still support churches who wish to take part in the National Church Life Survey. Please contact the NCLS Research – - to express your interest.

Local Church Life Surveys to start in mid 2012
