Do Australian Protestant churches help Asian migrants to integrate into society? NCLS researchers are working with UK colleagues on this question. In short, early results show that congregations do foster social capital among Asian migrants, though not to levels found among Australians who are third generation or more. Context, tradition and internal church life: Does the internal life of the local church predict outcomes when context and faith tradition are also taken into account? NCLS researchers, Ruth Powell and Miriam Pepper tackled this question in a paper presented at the international conference of the Religious Research Association.
